ME

I'm Erica, a city girl living in the Andersonville neighborhood of Chicago painting my way through life.  I spend my days going over color-palettes and collecting swatches in my head, no matter what the scenery. I am the epitome of a clean freak, but at the end of the day I am colorfully covered in paint and pencil shavings. As for my blog, the title is a combination of a nickname I adopted growing up, Rica, and my middle name, Lindsay. I launched my blog in summer of 2013, in hopes of organizing my thoughts on fashion, fine art and interior design.

INSPIRATION

I am inspired by pops of color, texture, bold pattern, anything art deco, vintage signage, mid-century barware, etc. When it comes to interiors, I am attracted to modern design, dark flooring, steel furniture, tufted pieces, and patterned wallpaper. Although my style seems to be constantly evolving, I am drawn to old school textiles like velvet and leather and keep my eye out for architectural details and gold accents. I try to post as much as I can and keep viewers up to date with inspiring images and my latest work. I aim to incorporate my eye for design with pieces of my own life in my blog posts.

THINGS I LOVE

Painting, Paris, design books, puppies, styling the house, chocolate covered gummy bears, wandering  flea markets searching for that hidden gem, fresh peonies, Starbucks, puzzles, typography, french architecture, beautiful packaging, gemstones, alabaster lamps, the moon, bright lipstick.
